The Digital Economic Working Group (DEWG) Forum in the G20 Indonesia 2022 Presidency seeks to present a global agreement in building an inclusive digital ecosystem.
"Through this DEWG, we are globally trying to have an agreement, there is a corridor agreement in us building a digital ecosystem. Especially for digital Indonesia, we want an inclusive, empowering, and sustainable digital ecosystem," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Mira Tayyiba
Mira, who also serves as Chair of DEWG G20 2022, conveyed this at the Sofa Talk Series with the theme "Exploring Digital Issues and Skills at the G20 Forum" which was followed by virtual, Friday.
One of the priority issues brought up by Indonesia in the DEWG G20 forum is digital literacy and digital skills.
Mira said that digital literacy and skills are important for the community to be skilled in the digital space. In addition, people can also be ethical and protect themselves when in the digital realm.
"Many cases of fraud claiming to be someone, it's not, it also happens in the digital space. So here we must also have an understanding and knowledge of how to take care of ourselves, how to protect our personal data," said Mira.
If digital literacy and skills are possessed, then the community is expected to be able to utilize digital technology for productive activities that generate added value.
"So we can use it, understand the ethics, understand the basics of security to protect ourselves, and in the end it is hoped that it can produce something that has added value," he said.
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics itself has presented various programs in the context of equitable distribution of digital literacy and skills to the wider community.
In addition to basic level training through the National Digital Literacy Movement, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has a Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) program for middle-level digital skills, and the Digital Leadership Academy (DLA) program for top-level skills.
Digital literacy and skills are one of the three priority issues brought up in the Digital Economic Working Group (DEWG) of the Indonesian Presidency G20 2022, in addition to the issue of Connectivity and Recovery after COVID-19 and Cross-Border Data Flow (countries).
